Keri Russell

Russell married contractor Shane Deary in New York on February 14, 2007. They separated in 2013 and divorced in 2014 after having two children, a son named River and a daughter named Willa Lou.

Russell began a relationship with actor Matthew Rhys, her co-star on The Americans, during the show's run. They have a son named Sam, born in 2016.

Russell began performing at age 15 on Disney Channel's The All New Mickey Mouse Club, where she appeared from 1991 to 1994. Her fellow cast members included Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and Tony Lucca. She made her first feature-film appearance in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid in 1992.

After roles in The Babysitter's Seduction, When Innocence Is Lost, and Malibu Shores, Russell was cast as the title character in Felicity. The series ran from 1998 to 2002, and her performance earned her the 1999 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama.

Russell's film roles include the Vietnam War drama We Were Soldiers, The Upside of Anger, Mission: Impossible III, Waitress, August Rush, Extraordinary Measures, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Free State of Jones, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Her performance as Jenna Hunterson in Waitress was widely praised, and the role marked the fourth time she had played a pregnant woman.

She made her off-Broadway debut in Neil LaBute's Fat Pig in 2004. In 2019, she made her Broadway debut as Anna Mann in the revival of Lanford Wilson's Burn This, appearing opposite Adam Driver.

From 2013 to 2018, Russell starred in FX's The Americans as Elizabeth Jennings, a deep-cover KGB agent living in the United States during the Cold War. She appeared opposite Matthew Rhys, who played Elizabeth's husband and spy partner. Russell received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for the role and won the Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama in 2018.

Russell began starring in Netflix's political thriller The Diplomat in 2023 as Kate Wyler, a U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom. She also serves as an executive producer on the series. The role brought her Primetime Emmy nominations in 2023, 2025, and 2026, and she won the 2026 Actor Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
