Ken Goldin

Goldin grew up in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, after being born in Philadelphia. A fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, he began collecting and selling baseball cards in 1978. His father, Paul Goldin, supported the hobby, and the two later bought a large collection of cards at a flea market, which Goldin spent months sorting and preparing for sale.

In 1986, Goldin and his father formed The Score Board, Inc., a trading-card company that also signed athletes to exclusive autograph contracts. The company went public in 1987 and later expanded its licensing relationships to include sports and entertainment properties. Goldin left the company in 1997, and from 1998 to 2011 he supplied sports collectibles to television shopping outlets including QVC and HSN.

In 1985, Goldin pleaded guilty to wire fraud after using fraudulently obtained credit card numbers to pay for the online game MegaWars. He received three years of probation, a $500 fine, and an order to pay $3,750 in restitution.

Goldin founded Goldin Auctions in 2012, establishing an auction house focused on rare trading cards, sports memorabilia, historical artifacts, and pop-culture collectibles. He has sold memorabilia associated with major figures in sports, history, and entertainment, and became a regular guest on Fox Business, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and ESPN to discuss the collectibles industry.

In May 2024, eBay acquired Goldin Auctions, while Goldin continued as its founder and CEO. The company later expanded into entertainment memorabilia through its acquisition of Studio Auctions, a rare movie-props auction house. Goldin also brought the company’s sports memorabilia to Japan for a major public showcase.

Goldin has maintained professional associations with figures including Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio through The Score Board’s autograph contracts. He also acquired a Babe Ruth bat from memorabilia collector Reggie Jackson, an item he considers part of his personal collection.

King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch premiered on Netflix in April 2023 and made Goldin the central figure in a reality series about the collectibles business. The program was renewed for a second season, which premiered in June 2024, and a third season was scheduled to premiere in December 2025.

The series features Goldin examining rare cards, memorabilia, and unusual collectibles with celebrity guests and collectors. Logan Paul appeared with Goldin to open Pokémon cards in the first season and later returned to open vintage basketball and wrestling cards. The show also included Goldin’s daughter Laura Goldin in its family and business setting.

Connor Schell, founder of Words + Pictures, first contacted Goldin about creating a series around his work. Brent Montgomery and Peyton Manning subsequently joined the production as executive producers through their respective production companies.

Goldin serves as chairman of the Camcare Charitable Foundation, through which he supports community initiatives and projects. He is also a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Sports’ board of directors, contributing to efforts to preserve sports history and promote education through exhibits and programs.

He has used his auctions to support youth sports. In 2025, Goldin offered a bat associated with a Haddonfield, New Jersey, Little League player, with the proceeds designated for the Haddonfield Little League.

Goldin is married to Jenn Goldin, his second wife. They have two children together, Lindsey and Paul. Goldin also has an older daughter, Laura Goldin, from his first marriage, making three children in the blended family.
