Kacey Montoya

Kacey Montoya is unmarried and has never been married. She has kept her romantic life private and has not confirmed a relationship or engagement.

Montoya is identified as white and has described her heritage as English, German and Irish. She grew up in Dallas, Texas, owns two Chihuahuas and maintains her fitness through gym workouts and yoga.

Montoya earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge. While studying there, she won first place for television in-depth reporting for a talk show about political free speech. She began her broadcast career at WOAY-TV in August 2004 as a reporter, anchor and producer, then worked as an anchor and reporter at KPSP-TV from 2005 to 2007.

She joined KOIN 6 in Portland as a reporter in November 2007 and also worked as a daily host for Digital Trends. In June 2013, she joined KTLA in Los Angeles as a reporter and became a full-time weather forecaster in 2015. At KTLA, she appeared on the KTLA Weekend Morning News, delivered weather forecasts and hosted the pet adoption segment “Kacey's Cause: 4 Paws.” Her journalism honors include the 59th Annual Southern California Journalism Award and several Los Angeles Press Club Awards.

Montoya founded Fix'n Fidos, an animal welfare nonprofit in Los Angeles, and serves as its president. The organization became a major part of her public work alongside her broadcasting career.

Her interest in animal welfare also shaped her KTLA work through “Kacey's Cause: 4 Paws,” a segment focused on pet adoption. She has described her love of dogs as a central part of her life and public advocacy.

Montoya has appeared in television productions in roles connected to her broadcasting experience. Her credits include a reporter on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sandy Gagic on Ray Donovan, and appearances in Murder in the First, Rebel, Too Old to Die Young, Hit the Floor and The Lincoln Lawyer.

Her film credits include news anchor roles in Arkansas, The Forever Purge, Breaking and Muzzle: City of Wolves. She also appeared in Austin Found as an entertainment reporter and was a producer on Last Days of Dixie.
