Joe Burrow

Burrow was engaged to Olivia Holzmacher from August 2023 until April 2024, and he began dating model Olivia Ponton later that year. In 2022, Burrow partnered with his parents, Jimmy and Robin Burrow, to establish the Joe Burrow Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on providing resources for families facing food insecurity and addressing childhood mental health challenges.

Beyond football, Burrow has gained recognition for his eclectic approach to fashion, frequently drawing widespread media attention for his pregame attire, tailored designer suits, and red-carpet appearances, including attending the Met Gala.

Burrow grew up in Athens, Ohio, in a family with deep football ties. His father, Jimmy Burrow, played in the NFL and served as the longtime defensive coordinator at Ohio University, while his two older brothers, Jamie and Dan, played college football at the University of Nebraska. At Athens High School, Burrow was a standout point guard in basketball and a dominant quarterback, earning Mr. Ohio Football honors in 2014 after passing for 63 touchdowns and guiding his team to the state championship game.

Burrow enrolled at Ohio State University in 2015, redshirting his first year and spending the next two seasons as a backup. After graduating in three years with a bachelor's degree in consumer and family financial services, he transferred to Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2018. Playing under head coach Ed Orgeron, Burrow engineered one of the most prolific offensive seasons in college football history as a senior in 2019. He threw for 5,671 yards and an NCAA FBS-record 60 touchdowns, leading LSU to a 15-0 record and a 42-25 victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff national championship game.

Burrow won the 2019 Heisman Trophy by the largest margin in the award's history, securing first-place votes on 90.7 percent of all ballots. During his acceptance speech, he spoke openly about poverty and food insecurity in southeastern Ohio, an emotional appeal that prompted community members and fans to donate more than $500,000 to an Athens County food pantry.

The Cincinnati Bengals selected Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He stepped into the starting role immediately, becoming the first rookie quarterback in league history to throw for at least 300 yards in three consecutive games before a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee cut his rookie season short in November 2020.

Burrow returned for the 2021 season and established himself among the league's premier quarterbacks. He led the NFL with a 70.4 percent completion rate, threw for a franchise-record 4,611 yards, and won his first NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. Burrow led Cincinnati to its first playoff victory in 31 years and carried the franchise to Super Bowl LVI, where the Bengals were defeated 23-20 by the Los Angeles Rams.

In 2022, Burrow threw for 4,475 yards and 35 touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection and leading Cincinnati to a second consecutive AFC Championship Game appearance. After missing part of the 2023 season with a torn wrist ligament, Burrow rebounded in 2024 to lead the NFL with 43 touchdown passes, 460 completions, and 4,918 passing yards, earning his second NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. That season, he set an NFL record by recording at least 250 passing yards and three touchdowns in eight consecutive games. By his 75th regular-season game in 2025, he became the third-fastest quarterback in NFL history to reach 150 career touchdown passes.
