Jenna Dewan was married to actor Channing Tatum from 2009 until their divorce was finalized in November 2019. They met while filming Step Up, began dating after production ended, became engaged in 2008 and married in Malibu, California, in July 2009. They have a daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum, born in 2013.

Dewan began dancing professionally before establishing herself as an actress. She first appeared in Janet Jackson's music video for “Doesn't Really Matter” in 2000, followed by the “All for You” video and Jackson's All for You World Tour. She also worked with artists including Christina Aguilera, Pink, Missy Elliott, Toni Braxton, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin and Mandy Moore.
Her touring work included Justin Timberlake's Justified World Tour and Sean Combs's We Invented the Remix Tour. Dewan's dance background led directly to her breakthrough film role as Nora Clark, a performing-arts student, in Step Up (2006). She also appeared in Take the Lead and The Grudge 2 that year.

Dewan made her television acting debut on Quintuplets in 2004 and later appeared in Joey, The Young and the Restless and Melrose Place. Her subsequent roles included Bunny Janie on The Playboy Club, Teresa Morrison in American Horror Story: Asylum and Freya Beauchamp in Witches of East End. NBC cancelled The Playboy Club after three episodes.
She played Lucy Lane in Supergirl and reprised the character in Superman & Lois. Dewan also appeared as Joanna in the Netflix series Soundtrack and joined The Rookie as Bailey Nune, becoming a series regular in its fourth season. Outside scripted acting, she hosted World of Dance and Flirty Dancing and judged Come Dance with Me.
Production work
Dewan co-founded 33andOut Productions with Reid Carolin, Adam Martingano, Brett Rodriguez and Channing Tatum. The company's first production was Earth Made of Glass, a documentary about Rwandan President Paul Kagame and genocide survivor Jean-Pierre Sagahutu that premiered at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
She later served as an executive producer on the Step Up television series and on the Lifetime films Let's Get Physical and Devil on My Doorstep.
