Javier Hernández

Hernández was raised in a prominent soccer family. His father, Javier Hernández Gutiérrez, also played professionally as a striker for the Mexico national team.

In March 2019, Hernández married travel blogger Sarah Kohan. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Noah, in June 2019.

Hernández entered the youth system of C.D. Guadalajara at the age of 15. He earned his senior debut during the 2006 Apertura tournament in a match against Necaxa at Estadio Jalisco, ultimately scoring 26 goals in 64 matches during his time with the club.

On April 8, 2010, Manchester United completed a deal to sign Hernández, making him the first Mexican player in the club's history. He debuted on July 28, 2010, coming on as a substitute for Nani in the MLS All-Star Game and scoring just 18 minutes later. He made his Premier League debut later that season against Newcastle United as a replacement for Wayne Rooney. Hernández concluded his debut campaign by winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award and receiving a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year.

In 2014, Hernández moved to Spain on a season-long loan to Real Madrid. His European career also featured tenures with German club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, English side West Ham United, and Spanish club Sevilla FC. In January 2020, he moved to North America after signing a three-year contract with Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy.

Hernández debuted for the Mexico national team in 2009 and made his FIFA World Cup debut on June 11, 2010, playing in the opening match against South Africa.

During the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Hernández scored the first hat-trick of his professional career in a 5-0 group stage win over El Salvador. He finished the competition with seven goals, earning both the tournament's top scorer award and the Most Valuable Player award. On July 5, 2011, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics named him the World Goalgetter 2011 after he registered 13 international goals.
