Jacob Batalon made his breakthrough as Ned Leeds in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The American actor appeared across Marvel's Spider-Man series before taking the lead in the Syfy series Reginald the Vampire.
Personal life
Batalon married architectural designer Veronica Leahov in 2026. The couple began dating in 2024 and announced their engagement in March 2025.
He grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, in a large Filipino household. His parents, Nestor Batalon and Vangie Andres, originated from Pangasinan in the Philippines. He has seven half-siblings across both sides of his family. During seventh grade, doctors diagnosed him with alopecia.
Ahead of filming Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2020, Batalon lost 102 pounds through diet and exercise.
Breakout as Ned Leeds in the MCU
Batalon attended Damien Memorial School and briefly studied music theory at Kapiʻolani Community College. He soon dropped out. Moving to New York, he enrolled in a two-year acting program at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. He applied on a whim.
Shortly before finishing his training, he auditioned opposite Tom Holland and was cast as Ned Leeds in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). It was his first major professional job. Batalon reprised Ned in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
A red-carpet photo from the Homecoming premiere spawned a widely shared internet meme labeling him the "CEO of sex." Batalon publicly embraced the joke.
Television and other film roles
In 2018, Batalon appeared in the young-adult fantasy Every Day and the horror-comedy Blood Fest. He later joined the cast of the holiday ensemble Let It Snow.
In 2022, Batalon landed the starring role in Syfy's horror dramedy Reginald the Vampire. He also served as a co-executive producer. In one episode, he spoke Ilocano on screen, using his mother's maiden name, Andres, for his character.
He also appeared in the comedy-drama Shortcomings, the heist film Lift, the horror film Tarot, and the 2025 action-comedy Novocaine alongside Nathan Caine.
