Miss Israel, modeling, and military service
Gadot won the Miss Israel title in 2004 and represented Israel at the Miss Universe pageant that year. The pageant helped launch her modeling career and brought her wider public recognition.
She served for two years in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat fitness instructor. Her modeling work included serving as the main model for the Israeli fashion brand Castro from 2008 to 2016, appearing in fashion magazines, and becoming the face of Gucci Bamboo in 2015. She later represented Reebok and Revlon in brand campaigns beginning in 2018.
Gadot studied law at IDC Herzliya, now Reichman University, while pursuing modeling and acting opportunities. She also trained in martial arts, including karate and Krav Maga.
Breakthrough as Gisele Yashar in *Fast & Furious*
Gadot made her Israeli television debut in Bubot in 2007. After auditioning unsuccessfully for Camille Montes in Quantum of Solace, she was cast as Gisele Yashar in Fast & Furious in 2008.
She reprised the role in Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6. Gisele is portrayed as a skilled operative and fighter, and Gadot performed many of her own stunts in the series. Her work in the franchise established her as an action performer and brought her international attention.
Gadot also appeared in the television series Entourage and The Beautiful Life, as well as films including Knight and Day, Date Night, Triple 9, Criminal, and Keeping Up with the Joneses.
Wonder Woman and the DC Extended Universe

To prepare for the role, she undertook extensive physical training that included swordsmanship, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, capoeira, Kung Fu kickboxing, boxing, and horseback riding. She also performed stunts for the films and trained intensively in fight choreography.
Her portrayal of Wonder Woman earned her several awards, including a Spotlight Award from the National Board of Review, a Teen Choice Award for Choice Action Movie Actress, and a Saturn Award for Best Actress. She was also named to Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.
