Dan Avidan

Dan Avidan has been married to artist Ashley Anderson since 2021. He announced the marriage on an episode of Game Grumps uploaded in February 2022.

Avidan and Anderson have no children.

In 2013, Arin Hanson brought Avidan onto Game Grumps to replace Jon Jafari as co-host. Avidan and Hanson became the central hosting partnership of the Let's Play web series, and Avidan also co-hosted related programs including Steam Train, Grumpcade, Table Flip, and Steam Rolled. He remained on Steam Train until the show's discontinuation.

Avidan joined Hanson and Brian Wecht in the comedy music trio Starbomb in late 2013. The group creates parody songs about video games and released the albums Starbomb, Player Select, The TryForce, and Starbomb Boom: Rise of Lyrics.

Avidan also played eSports coach Alex Taylor in the six-episode web series Good Game, alongside Hanson, who played Taylor's best friend Ryland Smith. The series followed the pair as they entered a gaming competition with a grand prize of $1 million.

Avidan formed Ninja Sex Party with Brian Wecht in 2009 after meeting him through the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Performing as Danny Sexbang, Avidan supplies the duo's vocals and comedic persona, while Wecht performs as Ninja Brian. Their music combines comedy, rock, electronic elements, and satire, and the duo has released original albums, cover albums, a live album, and a re-recorded album.

Ninja Sex Party made its live television debut on Conan in 2018 with a censored performance of "Danny Don't You Know." The duo has also performed at conventions and festivals including SXSW, Dragon Con, and MAGFest.

Before Ninja Sex Party, Avidan was the lead singer of the Philadelphia indie rock band The Northern Hues, which released a self-titled EP in 2004. He later formed the alternative rock duo Skyhill with Peter Lennox, releasing Run with the Hunted in 2007 and Out in the Moonlight in 2023.

In 2021, Avidan announced Shadow Academy, a rock duo formed with Jim Roach. Their debut single, "White Whale," arrived in 2022, followed by the album Shadow Academy.

Avidan played Alex Taylor in Good Game and appeared in projects including A Heist with Markiplier and In Space with Markiplier. He has also voiced characters in video games such as Robert in Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator, Billy Lee in River City Girls, and Daniel the Monster in Pinstripe.

For television, Avidan performed the theme song for Mighty Magiswords with creator Kyle Carrozza and voiced the character Dan in the episode "Changeable Terraingable." He also co-created and co-wrote the animated comedy miniseries DJs in PJs with Brian Wecht.

His other work includes the football podcast Balls in Your Ear with Josh Sprague, the acoustic-cover albums Dan Avidan & Super Guitar Bros, and guest vocals on tracks by Night Runner and Tupper Ware Remix Party.
