Anthony Davis

Davis was raised in Chicago alongside two sisters, Antoinette and Lesha. He married his wife, Marlen P, in September 2021, and the couple has a daughter.

Davis attended Perspectives Charter School in Chicago, an institution not traditionally known for athletic prestige. Initially playing as an outside shooter standing six feet tall during his freshman year, he underwent a rapid growth spurt over the subsequent three years. By the conclusion of his high school career, he reached roughly six feet and ten inches while retaining his guard-oriented agility and shooting skills.

He committed to the University of Kentucky to play under coach John Calipari for the 2011-2012 season. In his single college campaign, Davis guided the Wildcats to a 38-2 record and an NCAA national championship. His play earned him consensus National Player of the Year honors, the Wooden Award, the Naismith Trophy, and first-team All-American selection. He was also named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player, becoming only the fourth freshman in tournament history to receive the honor.

Davis entered the 2012 NBA draft and was selected first overall by the New Orleans Hornets. After earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 2013, he quickly developed into one of the league's premier two-way forwards and centers, earning his first All-Star selection in his sophomore season while leading the league in blocked shots. At the 2017 NBA All-Star Game, Davis scored 52 points, setting an All-Star scoring record and capturing the game's Most Valuable Player award.

In July 2019, Davis was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, forming a partnership with LeBron James. In his debut season in Los Angeles, he played a crucial role in securing the 2020 NBA championship, averaging 25 points and 10.7 rebounds per game across the NBA Finals. He later helped the franchise capture the league's inaugural in-season NBA Cup tournament in 2023 before continuing his professional career with subsequent trades to the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.

Davis made his senior international debut for the United States men's national basketball team prior to playing his first professional NBA game. Selected to the roster for the London 2012 Olympic Games alongside teammates such as Kobe Bryant, he captured his first Olympic gold medal. Two years later, he anchored the American frontcourt to a gold medal at the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

Following his 2020 NBA Finals victory with the Lakers, Davis achieved what is recognized as the Grand Slam of Basketball, becoming the first player in history to win an NCAA championship, an Olympic gold medal, a FIBA World Cup title, and an NBA championship.
