Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been married to filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson since 2012. They met in 2008 when he auditioned to play John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, which Sam directed. He was 18 at the time, and she was 23 years older.

They became engaged in 2009 and married at Babington House in Somerset on 21 June 2012. The couple adopted the combined surname Taylor-Johnson. They have two daughters together, Wylda Rae and Romy Hero, and Aaron is stepfather to Sam's daughters Angelica Jopling and Jessie Phoenix Jopling from her previous marriage.

The couple collaborated on A Million Little Pieces, with Sam directing and both of them co-writing the screenplay. Aaron has also appeared in music videos directed by Sam, including R.E.M.'s "ÜBerlin" and Rhye's "Black Rain."

Taylor-Johnson began performing at the age of six. He appeared as Macduff's son in a 1999 London production of Macbeth and later acted in All My Sons. His early training included drama, tap, jazz, acrobatics, and singing at the Jackie Palmer Stage School in High Wycombe.

His feature-film debut came in Tom & Thomas (2002), in which he played twin title roles. He portrayed a young Charlie Chaplin in Shanghai Knights (2003), appeared in The Illusionist (2006) as the teenage version of Edward Norton's character, and took the lead role of Prosper in The Thief Lord (2006). His television work included Feather Boy, Talk to Me, and Nearly Famous.

Taylor-Johnson gained recognition in Britain for Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008), in which he appeared opposite Georgia Groome. His breakthrough came with Nowhere Boy (2009), a biographical film about John Lennon's adolescence. His performance earned him the Empire Award for Best Newcomer.

In Kick-Ass (2010), Taylor-Johnson played Dave Lizewski, a teenager who decides to become a superhero despite having no special abilities. The film introduced him to a wide American audience, and he reprised the role in Kick-Ass 2 (2013). He also starred in the thriller Chatroom and appeared with Glenn Close in Albert Nobbs (2011).

His subsequent roles included Ben in Oliver Stone's Savages (2012) and Count Vronsky in Joe Wright's adaptation of Anna Karenina (2012), alongside Keira Knightley and Jude Law. In Godzilla (2014), he played Lieutenant Ford Brody opposite Elizabeth Olsen.

Taylor-Johnson portrayed Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, in the mid-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). The role reunited him with Elizabeth Olsen, who had played his wife in Godzilla.

Taylor-Johnson played Ray Marcus, a menacing drifter, in Tom Ford's thriller Nocturnal Animals (2016). His performance won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture and brought him a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

He later appeared in the war thriller The Wall (2017), the historical action drama Outlaw King (2018), and Christopher Nolan's action film Tenet (2020). He played Archie Reid in The King's Man (2021) and Tangerine in David Leitch's Bullet Train (2022), alongside Brad Pitt.

His later credits include The Fall Guy, Nosferatu, and Kraven the Hunter, all released in 2024. In Kraven the Hunter, he played Sergei Kravinoff, while in Nosferatu he portrayed Friedrich Harding. He starred as Jamie in Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later (2025).
