Tricia Macke

Tricia Macke has been married to Chris Macke since 1992. He is a local attorney and sports agent. The couple have five children: Spencer, Piper, Dash, Saylor, and Katlynn.

In 2005, Macke adopted Katlynn, her niece, after Macke's sister died from cancer. Macke has remained rooted in Northern Kentucky despite opportunities to leave the Cincinnati area.

Macke began her journalism career in 1989 as a producer at 700 WLW Radio. She worked as a reporter and producer at Storer Cable from 1991 to 1992, then served as a news anchor and producer at WCKY Radio from 1990 to 1993.

After graduating from Northern Kentucky University, she combined radio work with freelance reporting for WXIX-TV and modeling for local department stores. In 1993, WXIX offered her a full-time position, and she ended her modeling career.

Macke joined WXIX-TV when the station launched its local news operation in 1993. She became the only remaining original member of the station's news team and the longest-tenured news anchor among Cincinnati's late-news anchors.

Over her career at FOX19 NOW, she has worked as a general assignment reporter, weekend anchor, morning program host, and evening anchor. She anchors news at 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m., totaling 4.5 hours of broadcasts each day.

Macke's reporting has taken her to Bosnia, Germany, and Israel. She has covered the O.J. Simpson double-murder trial, John Glenn's return to space, and the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, in February 2023. Her East Palestine reporting focused on the serious health effects experienced by residents and continued coverage of the community's concerns.

She has interviewed President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, senators, governors, professional athletes, and celebrities. Macke has received multiple Emmy Awards and the Associated Press Award for Excellence in Journalism. In 2025, she was inducted into the Silver Circle at the Ohio Valley Emmy Awards for more than 25 years in broadcast journalism and community service.

Beyond the newsroom, Macke founded a basketball organization designed to help children earn college scholarships while developing education and life skills. She has coached basketball teams and taught young children the sport.

Macke also mentors current and aspiring journalists through lectures at Northern Kentucky University and meetings with students at the Highlands Journalism Club and local schools. Her community work includes advocating for animal rescue and supporting veterans through FOX19's 4:00 news and Honor Flights.
