Tiffany Smiley is an American political candidate and motivational speaker known for running as the Republican nominee in the 2022 United States Senate election in Washington. A former triage nurse and veterans advocate, she gained national prominence through her work supporting wounded service members and founding the political action committee Endeavor PAC.

Family and caregiving

Tiffany Smiley married Scotty Smiley in December 2003. While serving as an Army officer in Iraq, Scotty was blinded by an explosion during combat. Following his injury, Smiley stepped into the role of his primary caregiver and became an active advocate for wounded military personnel and their families. Together, the couple has three sons.

Her experience navigating the military medical system and assisting her husband led her to co-found Hope Unseen, an organization focused on sharing their story of resilience and providing motivational support. Through this platform, she took on speaking engagements and published writings centered on overcoming adversity.

Education and background

Smiley was raised in Washington State and graduated from Pasco High School in 1999. She pursued higher education in health care, earning a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Whitworth University in 2004.

After completing her degree, she worked professionally as a triage nurse. Her medical background later informed her advocacy on behalf of veterans seeking healthcare reform and specialized rehabilitation services. Beyond her professional work, her community involvement has included service on the Catholic Foundation Board and volunteer efforts with organizations such as Second Harvest Food Bank and We Heart Seattle.

2022 U.S. Senate campaign and political work

In 2022, Smiley entered electoral politics by launching a campaign for the United States Senate in Washington as a Republican candidate, seeking to unseat longtime incumbent Democratic Senator Patty Murray. After advancing from the August top-two primary, she campaigned on issues including inflation, crime, immigration, and veterans affairs.

During the general election campaign, Smiley participated in a televised debate against Murray hosted at Gonzaga University in October 2022. In the November election, she secured 46.2 percent of the statewide vote.

Following the Senate race, Smiley expanded her political and media profile. She founded Endeavor PAC to support political initiatives and candidates, and she became a regular commentator on political panels and television programs, including appearances on Fox News Sunday, Outnumbered, and Hannity.
