Tanzyn Crawford

Crawford was born in Perth, Western Australia. Her mother is Australian and her father is an African American from Indiana. She spent her childhood moving between Australia and the United States, completing most of her later schooling at home.

She identifies as gay. Early in her career, she faced friction in Australian casting rooms due to her mixed heritage, often encountering feedback that productions hesitated to cast parents of two different races.

Crawford trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. She graduated with a one-year diploma in screen performance. Shortly after finishing her studies, she moved to the United States and secured talent management.

Her screen career began with guest appearances, including a 2020 credit in the film Alexander. She booked her first American television role soon after graduation, appearing as Willow in two episodes of the psychological horror series Servant.

In 2023, Crawford starred in the Hulu limited series Tiny Beautiful Things. She portrayed Rae Kincade, the daughter of Clare, played by Kathryn Hahn.

She returned to Australia to star in the 2024 series Swift Street. Playing Elsie opposite Cliff Curtis, she depicted a young woman scrambling to help her father repay a twenty-six thousand dollar debt.

Crawford joined the Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, adapted from the novellas by George R. R. Martin. She was cast as Tanselle, a Dornish puppeteer nicknamed 'Too-Tall'. The casting call asked for a tall puppeteer, and Crawford stands six feet tall.

In 2026, she joined the live-action television adaptation of the video game franchise Assassin's Creed as a series regular. She also filmed an appearance as Jane Yarrow in the television series Sheriff Country.
