Nala Ray

Nala Ray was born in Decatur, Illinois, and grew up as the middle child of five siblings. Her father was a Baptist pastor, and her family lived in Illinois, Missouri, and Florida during her childhood. After a tornado destroyed the family’s belongings in Missouri, her parents eventually remarried and returned to Illinois.

Ray was homeschooled and raised under strict religious rules. She has described being expected to set an example for the surrounding community and not being allowed to wear makeup, provocative clothing, use social media, or date. At 18, she left community college and worked in a medical office before building a public presence online.

Ray began posting fitness-modeling images on Instagram in 2016 under the name Fitness Nala. Her content has centered on fashion, physique-focused selfies, exercise videos, travel, and comedic material. Her Instagram account, @fitness_nala, has attracted more than a million followers, while her TikTok presence has also contributed to her visibility.

Her online work developed into a subscription-based career in 2020. She became known for cosplay, gaming, anime-inspired characters, and attention-focused social media promotion. She later left that career in January 2024 and redirected her public work toward fitness, faith, and helping women reconsider involvement in the online sexual-content industry.

Ray is also listed in connection with the titles This Is Fire (2022), The Quiet Games (2023), and The Secret Place (2023). In 2026, she began The Nala Ray Show, a YouTube podcast focused on Christianity and conversations involving women leaving the online sexual-content industry.

Ray reconnected with Christianity after meeting Jordan Giordano in September 2023. Giordano was hosting a TikTok livestream when Ray supported him during a live competition, and their relationship developed while she was living in California and he was in Virginia. Ray has credited their conversations, as well as Giordano’s mother, with influencing her return to faith.

She was baptized at Fearless Church in Los Angeles in December 2023. After leaving her previous online career, she removed much of the clothing she described as immodest and began using her social media platforms to share Christian messages and discuss her personal transformation.

Ray and Giordano married on March 31, 2024, during Easter weekend, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. She has appeared in Christian and conservative media and uses Cameo to offer personalized birthday messages and pep talks centered partly on encouragement and faith.
