Hurricane Wisdom

Hurricane Wisdom was born in Tallahassee and was raised in Havana, Florida, in a large family. He spent much of his childhood with his grandmother and moved between family homes, including periods living with his father and later with his mother. His older brother is named Gabriel.

He became involved in music through church and school choirs. At age eleven, he joined a church band where he rapped and performed, while his grandmother introduced him to the music of Donnie McClurkin. His upbringing and the challenges he experienced later became recurring subjects in his music, including the video for "Who I Am," which revisited his grandmother's home.

Hurricane Wisdom began making music in his teens and started taking the career seriously in 2020. His debut single, "Granny's Baby," was followed by the breakthrough track "Giannis," which surpassed 30 million Spotify streams and received a remix featuring Polo G. He also released "Drugs Callin'," which was remixed with Lil Baby and Kodak Black.

He released his debut album, Hurricane Season, in 2021 and appeared on SpotemGottem's "Got a Lil Older" in the same period. His albums Perfect Storm and Perfect Storm: Sorry 4 The Rain reached the Billboard 200. He also appeared on the Perfect Storm: No Umbrellas Tour in 2025.

In July 2025, Hurricane Wisdom signed with Rebel Music. Gamma, which partners with Rebel, distributes his tracks through that arrangement. During this period, he appeared on Murda Beatz's "Winter's Over" alongside A Boogie wit da Hoodie and performed at the Hurricane Wisdom Official After Party in Seattle.

His 2026 releases included the Afrobeats-influenced single "Living Up," Tee Grizzley's "Hard Times," and "Barbie Doll" with Chance the Rapper. "Living Up" marked his debut Afrobeats song, while "Barbie Doll" and "Living Up" both reached the Bubbling Under Hot 100.

Hurricane Wisdom was selected as one of the twelve rappers in the 2026 XXL Freshman Class. He performed with the class in Los Angeles and participated in its a cappella freestyle and cypher performances, including a cypher with Chris Patrick, La Reezy, Sosocamo, Slayr, and Miles Minnick. He also performed on the Under Armour Stage at Rolling Loud in Orlando.

His album Weathering the World was announced for June 5, 2026, delayed, and released on August 7, 2026. The album includes "YK Where It's Goin,'" a collaboration with Gunna, and its announced collaborators also include Chance the Rapper.

Hurricane Wisdom's music combines hip-hop, Southern hip-hop, trap, pop rap, and contemporary R&B. He has described his sound as broad rather than confined to one category, moving between pop, Spanish-language songs, street-centered records, and more reflective material.

He has cited Rod Wave, Fetty Wap, Young Thug, Chance the Rapper, Eminem, Post Malone, XXXTentacion, and Juice Wrld as influences. He has also credited Rod Wave as the artist who most directly inspired him to pursue a rap career.
