Gabi Butler

Butler began competitive cheerleading at age eight after leaving gymnastics. She competed with all-star teams in Florida and California and became known for her flexibility, tumbling ability, and work as a flyer, the athlete positioned at the top of a stunt.

She performed with teams including California All Stars Smoed, Top Gun TGLC, Cheer Athletics Wildcats, and Gymtyme Blink. With Smoed, she won world championships in 2013 and 2014. She later competed with Navarro College and Weber State University, and in the 2025-26 season joined Top Gun Allstars Double O. In 2026, she also competed with the Pro Cheer League team Miami Metal.

Butler first appeared publicly through instructional cheerleading videos on YouTube at age 12. She later became a star of AwesomenessTV's Cheerleaders while competing with California All Stars Smoed, and appeared in ABC's Nightline coverage of the pressures of all-star competitive cheerleading.

In 2019, Butler was recruited to Navarro College, where she was filmed for Greg Whiteley's Netflix docuseries Cheer. The six-part series premiered in January 2020 and followed Navarro's preparation for college nationals, making Butler one of the show's breakout cast members. She also appeared with members of the Navarro team on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January 2020 and was featured in Battle Camp in 2025.

Butler joined Weber State University's nationally ranked cheer team after Navarro College. The Wildcats had won the 2021 college national championship, and Butler was one of nearly 100 athletes who tried out for the program.

At Weber State, Butler was coached by Spirit Squad advisor Summer Willis. She credited Willis with caring about athletes as people as well as performers. Butler also held cheer camps in 10 states with teammate Kollin Cockrell, using the events to teach cheerleading skills and promote positive self-worth.

In November 2022, Butler signed a contract with WWE and began training at the WWE Performance Center. Her WWE association marked a move from elite cheerleading into professional wrestling training.

Butler's television credits include WWE Survivor Series WarGames in 2022. Her public profile has also continued through her YouTube channel, which offers behind-the-scenes material about her cheerleading life, and through her audiences on Instagram and TikTok.
