Granberry began dating YouTuber Kennedy Cymone in 2017, and the pair were briefly engaged in 2018 before parting ways later that summer. From 2020 to 2021, he was in a relationship with rapper Rubi Rose.

In early 2022, Granberry began dating singer and actress Halle Bailey after first connecting online. The couple welcomed a son, Halo Saint Granberry, on December 22, 2023, and announced his birth publicly in January 2024. Granberry announced their separation in October 2024. In 2025, following disputes over custody and cross-filings for domestic violence restraining orders in Los Angeles County Superior Court, both parties dropped their mutual restraining orders in October 2025 and agreed to shared custody terms.

Granberry grew up in a household of five siblings, including internet creators DuB Bridge and Tee Tee. In 2014, his older brother Darion Breckenridge was murdered in Pontiac, Michigan. Granberry has credited the tragedy with motivating him to avoid street violence and focus entirely on creative and entrepreneurial ambitions.

Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. was raised in Pontiac, Michigan, where he was exposed to audio production at an early age through his father, who worked as an audio engineer. Granberry excelled academically, graduating as the class valedictorian from International Tech Academy.

Following high school, he enrolled at Central Michigan University. During his freshman year in 2014, he began publishing vlogs, pranks, parodies, and reaction videos online. After several of his videos gained viral traction and began generating substantial viewership, he dropped out of college before entering his sophomore year and relocated to Hollywood, California, to pursue entertainment full time.

Granberry released early independent music on digital platforms, gaining initial momentum in 2016 with the Zaytoven-produced songs "Balenciagas" and "Free Parties", as well as "Lettuce" featuring Famous Dex. In November 2017, he released the single "Givenchy", which was included on his debut 2018 extended play, Take Me Serious. That same year, he signed a recording contract with Epic Records and released the gold-certified single "Arguments".

In 2019, he released his second EP, Sorry 4 the Hold Up, featuring a collaboration with Queen Naija, followed by his debut studio album, Valedictorian. Granberry expanded his industry presence in 2020 by co-founding the imprint Zooted Music with his managers Eric O'Connor and Dimitri Hurt. Later that year, he released "Moonwalking in Calabasas", which became his first single to reach the Billboard Hot 100 after receiving official remixes from Blueface and YG.

In 2021, Granberry teamed with producer OG Parker for the collaborative mixtape Die 4 Respect, which featured appearances from 42 Dugg and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. That same year, he secured the fan-voted tenth spot on the XXL Freshman Class. His second studio album, It's Not Me It's You, arrived in September 2022, supported by the Gunna-assisted single "Elon Musk", for which he filmed a video incorporating zero-gravity flight training. He was subsequently named to the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in music and continued releasing full-length projects, including Maybe It's Me..., Blame the Chat, and Moo.

Granberry entered exhibition boxing in June 2021 at the YouTubers vs. TikTokers event held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. Competing against social media personality Nate Wyatt, Granberry secured a victory by unanimous decision across five rounds.

Alongside his recording career, he expanded his digital presence through multiple streaming channels and competitive entertainment. In 2025, he appeared as a contestant on the reality competition series Inside, finishing as the runner-up of the season, and earned nominations at the Streamer Awards for Best Music Streamer and Best Breakout Streamer.
