Cindy Costner

Cindy Silva met Kevin Costner in 1976 while both were students at California State University, Fullerton. After their first date, which included seeing the film Funny Girl, they dated for nearly two years before marrying on February 11, 1978.

The couple had three children together: Annie, born in 1984; Lily, born in 1986; and Joe, born in 1988. Following a 16-year marriage, they divorced in December 1994. In 2004, she married business executive Larry Ameen, who served as an executive for clothing brands including Pepe Jeans and Jordache Jeans.

Born Cynthia Silva in California, she grew up alongside her sister, Cathy. Her father, Louis A. Silva, was a water company manager, and her mother was Patricia Joan Antonucci. She is of Portuguese heritage.

After attending a private high school, she enrolled at California State University, Fullerton, where she pursued a bachelor's degree in biological science. During her student years, she developed an interest in the performing arts and participated in stage plays.

After graduating from university, Costner performed at Disneyland, portraying characters such as Cinderella and Snow White. She later worked as a marketing representative for Delta Airlines before entering film production.

In 1990, she served as a wagon master in the Western epic Dances with Wolves, directed by and starring Kevin Costner. In 1998, she appeared as Rosa in the independent drama LiteWeight. Outside of entertainment, she pursued business ventures in Newport Beach, California, and engaged in social activism supporting the rights of women and children.
