Britta Merwin

Britta Merwin has been married to Kevin since October 2010. They have three children, two boys and a girl.
Merwin took three years away from broadcasting to support Kevin while he served in the United States Coast Guard, during which time they started their family. She has also advocated for military spouses and the autism community, drawing on her experience as the mother of a child with special needs.
Morning co-anchor at FOX Weather
Merwin joined FOX Weather in 2021 as a morning co-anchor for the streaming weather service. She moved from Houston to the New York City area with her husband and children to take the position, which she described as a dream job.
At FOX Weather, Merwin has focused on coverage before, during and after severe weather events. The service works with storm chasers to provide visual reporting and advance warnings, while Merwin has continued to guide audiences through hurricanes, floods, wildfires, snowstorms and tornado recovery.
From Squawk Box to KPRC-TV
Merwin began her television career with NBC Weather Plus and became the morning meteorologist on CNBC's Squawk Box at age 24. She covered Hurricane Gustav and the 2008 Midwestern floods for NBC's national cable news networks, including CNBC and MSNBC. Her broadcasting work also included appearances for NBC Nightly News, CNBC World, KNSD in San Diego and Fast Money.
She later worked with News 12 Long Island, News 12 New Jersey and KCRA-TV in Sacramento. In 2014, she joined Houston's KPRC-TV, where she spent seven years and rose to become the station's morning meteorologist. Her coverage there included Hurricane Harvey, tropical storms, severe floods and Winter Storm Uri.
A lifelong passion for meteorology
Merwin studied atmospheric sciences and meteorology at Stony Brook University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. She is an Emmy-nominated meteorologist and a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist through the American Meteorological Society.
Born in San Antonio and raised mainly in Colorado in a military family, Merwin developed an early fascination with dramatic weather. She has described herself as a weather enthusiast who wanted to understand why conditions could change from warm sunshine to snow within a short period, and she has used that interest to explain weather risks and help people stay safe.
