Brandon Aiyuk is an American professional football wide receiver known for his play with the San Francisco 49ers. Selected 25th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, he earned second-team All-Pro honors after recording 1,342 receiving yards in 2023.

Personal life

Brandon Aiyuk married Rochelle Searight in April 2025. They began dating in 2018 while attending Arizona State University, and their son was born in September 2020.

From Sierra College to Arizona State

Aiyuk began his college career at Sierra College, where he played from 2016 through 2017. He recorded 89 receptions for 1,533 yards and 19 touchdowns there, finishing his two-season junior-college career with 2,499 all-purpose yards and 21 touchdowns. His 2017 season brought 60 receptions for 960 yards and 14 touchdowns, along with Junior College All-American recognition.

He transferred to Arizona State for the 2018 and 2019 seasons after choosing a program that recruited him as a wide receiver. In 2019, he recorded 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns, while also contributing as a punt and kickoff returner. He finished the season as a first-team All-Pac-12 selection at wide receiver and return specialist, and his 2019 campaign included 1,870 all-purpose yards in the regular season.

First-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers selected Aiyuk 25th overall in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in Week 2 against the New York Jets and scored his first professional touchdown the following week against the New York Giants.

Aiyuk became the first 49ers wide receiver since 1970 to have a rushing touchdown as his first career score. He also became the first wide receiver since the AFL-NFL merger to record two rushing touchdowns in his first three professional games. In 12 games during his rookie season, he made 60 receptions for 748 yards and five receiving touchdowns, while adding two rushing touchdowns.

In 2022, Aiyuk reached 1,015 receiving yards and scored a career-high eight touchdowns. He followed that with 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2023, becoming the fourth 49ers wide receiver to post back-to-back seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. His 2023 performance earned him his first AP second-team All-Pro selection and NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors in the season opener.

Injuries and reserve status

Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL during a 2024 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, ending his season. He finished that campaign with 25 receptions for 374 yards in seven games.

The 49ers placed him on the physically unable to perform list in July 2025 as he continued recovering from the knee injuries. In December 2025, the team placed him on its reserve/left squad list.

Through the 2025 career statistics listed for him, Aiyuk had 294 receptions for 4,305 yards and 25 receiving touchdowns in the regular season. He also recorded 131 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

Aiyuk played in three postseason games during the 2023 season. In the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions, he caught a touchdown and made a 51-yard reception after the ball deflected off defender Kindle Vildor's helmet. In Super Bowl LVIII against the Kansas City Chiefs, he made three receptions for 49 yards in the 49ers' overtime loss.
