Angie Katsanevas
Angie Katsanevas is an American reality television personality and entrepreneur known for starring in The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She is also the co-founder of the Lunatic Fringe salon business, which expanded into multiple salons, a beauty school, and a beauty supply store.
Personal life
Angie Katsanevas married salon entrepreneur Shawn Trujillo in 1999, and they have one daughter, Elektra. Elektra competes on the national hunter-jumper equestrian show circuit.
Katsanevas is Greek Orthodox. Her parents, Louis and Georgia Katsanevas, were Greek immigrants from Chania, Crete, and she has six siblings. Her mother died in 1982.
Lunatic Fringe and the beauty business
Katsanevas co-founded the Lunatic Fringe hair salon with Shawn Trujillo in 1999. The business later expanded to several salon locations, a beauty school, and a beauty supply store, with the couple operating salons around Salt Lake City.
Her work in the business has also shaped her television storyline. In one storyline, she returned to Lunatic Fringe to refresh her skills and practice on friends after discovering that her beauty license had expired.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Katsanevas joined The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in its third season as a friend of the Housewives after appearing in an episode of the second season. She became a full-time cast member in season four.
Before she was cast, Lisa Barlow and Heather Gay recommended her to producers during the casting process for the series. She has also appeared with the cast at BravoCon and as a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
