Amber Rose

Amber Rose Levonchuck grew up in South Philadelphia. Her mother, Dorothy Rose, is of Cape Verdean descent, while her father, Michael Levonchuck, is of Irish and Italian descent. She has a brother named Antonio Hewlett.

At 15, Rose began working as a stripper under the pseudonym "Paris" to help support her family. She later drew on her early experiences and public image in her advocacy and writing.

Rose gained attention after appearing in Young Jeezy's 2008 music video for "Put On," which featured Kanye West. Her association with West led to a Louis Vuitton print advertisement featuring his sneaker line, followed by a modeling contract with Ford Models. She also walked at New York Fashion Week for Celestino.

She appeared in music videos including Ludacris's "What Them Girls Like," Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack," Young Jeezy's "Vacation," Wiz Khalifa's "No Sleep," and Fabolous's "You Be Killin' Em." Her television work included Running Russell Simmons, RuPaul's Drag Race, Master of the Mix, and Dancing with the Stars, where she competed with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and finished in ninth place.

Rose also acted in films and television programs including Gang of Roses II: Next Generation, School Dance, Sister Code, Black-ish, and What Happened Last Night. Her two-year relationship with Kanye West began in 2008 and brought her additional visibility in fashion and entertainment.

Rose released her debut single, "Fame," featuring Wiz Khalifa, in January 2012. She followed it with "Loaded" the next month.

She also rapped on "Rise Above," a track from Khalifa's album O.N.I.F.C. that featured Tuki Carter and Pharrell Williams. Her musical work extended the public profile she had established through modeling and music-video appearances.

Rose announced plans for an eyewear line in 2009 and later opened the clothing line Rose & Ono with her friend Priscilla Ono in 2012. She also published How to Be a Bad Bitch through Simon & Schuster, combining career, fashion, relationship, and personal advice with autobiographical material.

In 2016, she launched MuvaMoji, an emoji app featuring 900 icons that she curated. She hosted The Amber Rose Show on VH1 and began hosting the syndicated radio call-in program Loveline that same year.

In 2015, Rose founded the Los Angeles chapter of SlutWalk, a feminist demonstration focused on opposing sexual shaming and supporting equality. She led the first Los Angeles event on October 3, 2015, and spoke publicly about her own experiences of harassment, bullying, and judgment.

The event became an annual part of Rose's public advocacy. Her work with SlutWalk helped shift her public image from fashion and entertainment personality toward outspoken activism on women's issues.

Rose married rapper Wiz Khalifa in 2013, and they had a son named Sebastian Taylor Thomaz. She filed for divorce in 2014, citing irreconcilable differences, and Rose and Khalifa later shared joint custody of Sebastian.

In 2019, Rose had a second son, Slash Electric Alexander Edwards, with Alexander "A.E." Edwards. She has two children.

Rose criticized Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, saying that she hoped he would not become president. In 2024, she announced her support for Trump's presidential campaign and formally endorsed him in a speech at the Republican National Convention.
