Amanda McCants

McCants grew up in Los Angeles, California, in a family that had lived in the area for six generations. She began directing her parents in homemade plays at the age of two, although acting had not previously been a family career. Her father drove her to acting classes as a teenager, and she has a younger sister named Tess McCants.

She auditioned during childhood and took her first improv class at 10. After returning to improv near the end of high school, she decided not to attend college and instead pursued acting.

McCants built her screen career through film and television roles, including Susan in Kazakh Business in America, Lisa in The Debt, Ginger in Long Distance Trip, Amy in Confessions, and Tess in Devils Nest. She played Roxy in the television series Verified and Lexi in the 2019 short film Striptease, a role for which she is particularly known.

Her later credits include Cinnamon in The Allnighter, Sonya Kellar in Beverly Hills Exorcist, Mandee in Good Kid from Brooklyn, Velma in Doctor Odyssey, Cindy in A Carpenter Christmas Romance, and Heather Marie in The Rookie. She also appeared as Donna in Palm Royale and had roles in the television series 1660 Vine and LMFA-NO!.

McCants appeared in Kygo and Ellie Goulding's music video for First Time and hosted the television mini-series Firework Live in 2019.

McCants has described comedic characters as her specialty, focusing on distinctive quirks and making them relatable. She has also worked as a filmmaker, creating her own films and other projects after repeatedly being offered limited roles as attractive supporting characters.

She writes and performs short comedy sketches for her YouTube channel and has worked as a writer as well as an actress. Her writing credits include one episode of LMFA-NO!.
