Taylor Fritz

Taylor Fritz has a son, Jordan, who was born in 2017. Fritz was married to former aspiring professional tennis player Raquel Pedraza from 2016 to 2019.

Fritz was in a relationship with fashion influencer Morgan Riddle from 2020 to 2026. He is also a gamer who has played World of Warcraft and Rust, and he has occasionally streamed gameplay on Twitch under the name TaylorFritz97.

Fritz is the youngest of three boys born to Kathy May and Guy Fritz. May was a top-10 WTA player, while Guy played professionally before becoming a tennis coach. Fritz has two older maternal half-brothers, Chris and Kyle, and grew up in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

He began playing tennis at age two and won the CIF singles title in the San Diego section during his first year at Torrey Pines High School. He later moved to Laurel Springs School, an online program that allowed him to compete full-time in international junior events.

Fritz reached the semifinals of the 2014 Junior Wimbledon tournament and won the Osaka Mayor's Cup that year. In 2015, he reached the boys' French Open final, defeated Tommy Paul to win the Junior US Open, and finished as the boys' No. 1 player. He became the first American since Donald Young in 2005 to be named ITF Junior World Champion.

Fritz turned professional after his 2015 Junior US Open victory and quickly climbed the rankings by winning consecutive Challenger titles. In his third ATP tournament, the 2016 Memphis Open, he defeated Steve Johnson and reached the final. This made him the youngest American to reach an ATP final since Michael Chang in 1988.

He broke into the top 100 in February 2016 and reached a career-high ranking of No. 53 later that year. After an injury-troubled 2017, he returned to the top 50 in 2018, working with coach Paul Annacone during that season.

Fritz won his first ATP Tour title at the 2019 Eastbourne International by defeating Sam Querrey. He also reached the top 25 that year and made his debut for Team World at the Laver Cup, where he defeated Dominic Thiem in singles.

Fritz's major breakthrough came at the 2022 Indian Wells Open. He defeated Rafael Nadal in the final to win his first Masters 1000 title, becoming the first American man to win the event since Andre Agassi in 2001. The victory moved him into the world's top 15.

Later in 2022, Fritz won the Eastbourne International for a second time and reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon. He entered the top 10 after winning the Tokyo title, defeating Frances Tiafoe in the final, and finished the season ranked No. 9. He also qualified for his first ATP Finals, where he defeated Rafael Nadal and reached the semifinals.

Fritz won the 2023 Delray Beach Open and Atlanta Open, reached the Monte-Carlo Masters semifinals, and made his first US Open quarterfinal. In 2024, he reached his first Australian Open quarterfinal and defended his Delray Beach title by defeating Tommy Paul.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Fritz and Tommy Paul won the bronze medal in men's doubles. The medal was Fritz's first Olympic medal and came during a season in which he also reached the semifinals of the Madrid Open and the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.

Fritz reached his first Grand Slam final at the 2024 US Open. He defeated Casper Ruud and Alexander Zverev before beating Frances Tiafoe in an all-American semifinal, then lost the final to Jannik Sinner. Fritz later reached his first ATP Finals championship match, again losing to Sinner, and ended the season at a career-high world No. 4.

In 2025, Fritz helped the United States win the United Cup and won titles at the Stuttgart and Eastbourne tournaments. He reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time, becoming the first American man to reach that stage since John Isner in 2018, before losing to Carlos Alcaraz.

Fritz is an offensive baseliner whose game is built around powerful groundstrokes, especially his forehand, and a fast serve. His serve has reached 149 miles per hour, while his sharp cross-court angles and flat backhand are defining features of his style.

He appeared in the Netflix tennis docuseries Break Point, which premiered in 2023. Fritz has also played for the San Diego Aviators and Philadelphia Freedoms in World TeamTennis, and he was named the league's 2020 Male MVP.
