Dess Dior

Dess Dior was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Savannah, Georgia. She has a late brother named Woodie and is described as the only daughter of her parents. She has no children.

Dess Dior and Future made their relationship public in November 2020 after being seen together several times. The relationship was described as having resumed in early 2022, while an October 2022 interview quoted Dess Dior saying she was single.

Dess Dior began rapping at age 12 and gained early attention through rap videos uploaded to YouTube. She was part of a teen rap group before developing as a solo artist, later relocating to Atlanta to pursue music professionally.

She released her first single in 2019 and issued her debut EP, Definition of Dess, in June 2020. Her later releases included "Stop Playing," "Mood Board," "Merry Xmas," "Rich and Raw," "Cap Ain't Nothing" and "Stone Cold." She has also collaborated with Chalynn Monee and Kidd Kenn.

In June 2021, Dess Dior performed at the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami. She has described her sound as distinctive for its flow, versatility and individuality, and has said that performing at Rolling Loud was one of the achievements she was most proud of.

Dess Dior used YouTube to publish music and later added vlogs to the channel. Her videos included braiding content that encouraged women of color to embrace natural hairstyles. The channel had more than 100,000 subscribers and over 17 million views in the profile describing it.

Her Instagram account, @1dessdior, attracted an audience of about 2 million followers and was used for brand advertising. She worked with Moon Cosmetics, Savage X Fenty, Boohoo and Pretty Melanin.

Dess Dior launched her own entertainment company, Show LUV Entertainment, and also sells merchandise online. She has described building her music brand independently and creating a team to help organize her goals.

Her career development included spending long hours in the studio, networking and working with people who could help her enter the music industry. She has also identified finding her artistic style and developing as a performer as major challenges in her early career.
