Conor McGregor

McGregor has been in a relationship with Dee Devlin since 2008. They became engaged in August 2020 and married in Italy in December 2025.

The couple have four children: Conor Jr., daughter Croía, and sons Rían and Mack.

Conor Anthony McGregor grew up in Crumlin, Dublin. He played soccer as a boy before joining Crumlin Boxing Club, where he trained from age 11 to 17 and won a Dublin Novice Championship. His parents are Tony and Margaret McGregor.

As a teenager, McGregor began training in mixed martial arts under John Kavanagh. He worked for a year as an apprentice plumber before leaving the trade to pursue professional fighting. He made his professional MMA debut in 2008 and won Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight championships in 2012.

McGregor joined the UFC in 2013 and won his promotional debut by first-round knockout. In 2015, he defeated Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title before stopping Jose Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194 to unify the division. In November 2016, he defeated Eddie Alvarez by second-round TKO to win the UFC lightweight championship.

The Alvarez victory made McGregor the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight divisions simultaneously. He has also competed at welterweight, including his two fights with Nate Diaz, his 2020 victory over Donald Cerrone, and his bouts with Dustin Poirier.

McGregor lost to Nate Diaz by submission at UFC 196, then won their rematch by majority decision. He was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 and lost two later fights to Dustin Poirier. His UFC record is listed as 22 wins, seven losses, and no draws, including 19 knockout victories and one submission win.

A severe lower-tibia fracture stopped McGregor's UFC 264 bout with Poirier in July 2021 and led to an extended absence from competition. He returned against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July 2026, losing by TKO after an injury stoppage in the first round.

McGregor's rise was chronicled in the 2017 documentary Conor McGregor: Notorious, for which he was also an executive producer. He later served as an executive producer on the 2023 miniseries McGregor Forever.

He has provided voice performances in games including Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, EA Sports UFC 2, EA Sports UFC 3, and Hitman: World of Assassination. In 2024, he played the enforcer Knox in the Prime Video remake of Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Post Malone.

Outside fighting, McGregor co-founded Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey in 2018. His business interests have also included TIDL Recovery Spray, The Black Forge Inn in Dublin, McGregor Fast fitness, Forged Irish Stout, and the Dystopia: Contest of Heroes video game series.

In 2018, McGregor was arrested after throwing a hand truck at a bus carrying UFC fighters during an incident at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and received a community-service sentence.

In 2019, he was arrested in Miami after a confrontation involving a fan's phone and was released after posting bond. In November 2024, a jury found him civilly liable for assault in Ireland and ordered him to pay damages and legal costs. McGregor denied a separate sexual-assault accusation connected to an NBA Finals game in Miami, and the civil lawsuit that followed was later dismissed with prejudice.
